According to the periodic report published in the middle of October 2018 by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) entitled “Livestock and Poultry: World Markets and Trade”[1], in 2019 the growth in global poultry export is forecast to reach 4% (calculated year-on-year) and will maintain a strong leader position in the world meat trade (11.6 million tons).

American experts foresee a further increase in global poultry production in 2019 by 2%, to a record 97.8 million tons. Around the world there remain to be positive conditions for such a situation: continuing low feed prices, the absence of outbreaks of avian influenza in regions with the highest poultry production, and constantly growing demand for poultry meat.

Global trade in 2019 should reach 11.6 million tons, and Brazil will remain the leader in world poultry export (ca. 3.7 million tons).

According to the American prognoses, Japan will remain the largest importer of poultry meat. The top ten will also include Mexico, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.

Analysts predict that in the European Union, the third largest producer and exporter of poultry in the world, production will increase by 1% in 2019, while export should grow by as much as 5% (calculated year-on-year). This positive signal for EU poultry producers indicates that poultry meat from the EU is increasingly valued on world markets, mainly because of its safety and unique quality. The high quality of EU poultry meat produced in accordance with the requirements of particular quality systems, including QAFP (Quality Assurance for Food Products), is a guarantee of consistent quality and excellent flavour.

Poultry labelled with the sign of QAFP is not seasoned in any way and does not include any added substances. Poultry meat produced in accordance with QAFP is packaged in innovative MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging), which guarantees freshness, safety and hygiene. The reliability of food produced in the QAFP system is confirmed by controls conducted by independent auditors at each stage of production.
