European poultry is enjoying increasing popularity in Vietnam. According to Eurostat[1], in 2017 the export of EU poultry meat increased by an impressive 46% in comparison with 2016 and amounted to nearly 52 thousand tons. The largest exporters were Holland, Poland and Spain.

Vietnamese representatives participating in an economic mission to Poland will be able to learn about the advantages of European poultry labelled with the sign of quality QAFP (Quality Assurance for Food Products). Poland, the largest producer of poultry meat in Europe[2], is also the organiser of the three-year promotional-informational campaign entitled “European poultry – strong on quality”. The participants of the trip, which will take place from 7 to 11 November 2018, will include potential importers, wholesalers and distributors of poultry, as well as representatives of sector organisations and opinion leaders. The visitors from Vietnam will have the opportunity to observe poultry production in modern poultry plants, and to visit the Experimental Facility at Kołuda Wielka, where a unique type of geese – the Biała Kołudzka goose – is bred, valued by demanding consumers all over the world, not only because of its exceptional flavour but also for its nutritional meat.

An important point of the mission will be a sector-based seminar devoted to cooperation between Vietnam and the European Union in the area of poultry export from EU countries. This will be organised in Toruń and will be an excellent occasion to obtain information regarding the safety and quality of poultry produced in the QAFP system, as well as poultry production in the European Union and commercial trade with Vietnam. After the seminar, there will be meetings and individual conversations between delegation members and seminar participants, as well as a dinner for all participants. For the guests from Vietnam, special culinary demonstrations are planned, during which the campaign’s chef will prepare tasty poultry dishes, including goose meat, for which the season is beginning in Poland.

“I hope that the EU campaign promoting European poultry, conducted for nearly three years on the Vietnamese market, among others, has contributed to some degree to an increase in awareness of the advantages of EU poultry produced in the QAFP system and has led to increased export to the Vietnamese market. I’m glad that we will have the chance to host representatives of various groups from Vietnam at a particularly important period for poultry raising, in November – the season for delicious goose meat. We have planned a number of attractions related to goose meat and I hope that our guests will enjoy this exceptionally tasty and nutritious meat,” states Łukasz Dominiak, General Director of the National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce, the largest Polish union of the sector, associating poultry breeders and producers, as well as the campaign’s organiser.

Increasing the export of European poultry labelled with the sign of quality QAFP (Quality Assurance for Food Products) to the Vietnamese market and maintaining interest in these products on the Vietnamese market are the main goals of the three-year promotional-informational campaign entitled “European poultry – strong on quality”. Thanks to the participation of campaign experts in the economic mission to Hanoi in 2016 and 2017, at trade fairs such as Vietfood&Beverage in 2016 and Food&Hotel Vietnam in 2017, as well as the permanent, intensive promotion of European poultry in the mass media, one can expect further growing interest in European poultry, which is well known to consumers around the world for its safety and high quality.

The organiser of the three-year campaign, whose purpose is to promote European poultry produced in the QAFP system, is the National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce. The campaign is co-financed by funds of the European Union.
